Received many compliments from other pilots, but I wouldn’t recommend itI received several compliments from other pilots about this pilot bag I bought. From far away, it seems extremely durable, versatile, and expensive. If I bought this for $150 USD, you bet I’m going to give this an honest & fair review. About myself, I fly a lot. I need a bag that can carry my flight essentials and has durability. Looking at the first photo, the pilot bag aesthetics looks great. It’s not the usual black/grey mesh pilot bags you see daily. So that’s good. Now the cons: On my second flight with this bag, the wear is already extremely noticeable! On my second flight! Looking at the second photo, you will see the “leather” (I will talk about this in a second) side of the shoulder strap pad, not the soft padded non-leather side. It’s already an eye-sore and the scratches cannot be removed due to the fact it’s NOT LEATHER! EXTREMELY MISLEADING in the flight outfitters website! If I knew this was synthetic leather, then I wouldn’t purchase it knowing that’s a bad design. Now, let’s talk about the “leather accents”. The leather is extremely fake. It’s certainly not full leather so buyers beware of the “leather accents” name. The sewing is extremely heinous. Looking at photo three and six., it’s another eye sore and extremely annoying. There was excessive lose sewing threads that I had to remove using scissors. It’s certainly unprofessional and it seems it was rushed from a Chinese factory. (Wait, this item is from China, therefore this statement is not facetious). Looking at the fifth photo, you can see the China manufacture tag. The durability is a three because at least there’s the thick canvas that holds this rating feature above water. About the versatility, it tried to be the best. Looking at the fourth photo, you will notice it lacks functions. Two pen holders? Are you kidding me? Many pilots like myself carries several different pens. I have pens with the rubber top for the iPad, regular pens, mechanical pencils, highlighters, sharpie markers, flashlight pen, and multi-tool pen. The iPad/logbook pouch is not deep enough. I have the iPad mini and I’m complaining about it. I carry the Samsung Note 8 in-which the middle pouch holds for it, but it covers 66 % and sticks out oddly. The front organizer pocket design needs a complete makeover. In conclusion, the website is extremely misleading. I bought this because of the name “BUSH PILOT BAG” Come on, if bush flying involves operations in rough terrain & remote areas or wilderness, this item should be extremely durable and sturdy. Three stars is extremely generous! If there was another discrepancy, this bag would easily be a two-star review. $150 USD is steep price for this item. Disappointed. Now about everyone else reviews. What the duck? I know some reviews are fake. But some needs to reevaluate the definition of five stars. One review talks about a discrepancy and you still give it five?

Sturdy Bag.Bag is very sturdy and has a lot of space for any size headsets on the ends and a huge center area which can hold a day of cloths with all other flight stuff. A bit on the expensive side but seems very durable. Zippers appear heavy duty. Shoulder strap is comfortable as well.

Mostly good, but with room for improvementPro’s:Reasonable durability.Quality material/stitching.Inner lining protects contents.Size is big enough for equipment but small enough to fit in helicopter cargo compartment.Side pocket perfect size for professional logbook.Con’s:Only one color- it’s fine for contract helicopter work/recreational flying, but I cannot use it for commercial fixed wing ops. Black or gray would look more professional.Headset pockets- ANR headsets cost upwards of $1000 apiece, and therefore I’d like more protection for them. Hardshell endcaps would be a very welcome improvement. The same can be said of the side pocket for logbook protection. This is the biggest issueLack of center compartment pockets/dividers- detatchable velcro dividers would keep contents from shifting during flight and aid in organizationOverall:Good flight bag, but somewhat limited for the professional pilot.

Great bag, but very bulkyReally awesome bag, but a bit to big and bulky. Definitely for someone flying in the middle of nowhere Alaska and needing to carry cold weather gear.Wish there was a smaller version of this case.I bought it because it has 2 headset pouches and wasn’t just boring black. But had to return because its way to big for my needs, and couldn’t stow it very easily.

Awesome bag and a great company!I bought this bag for my fiancé when she finished commercial school and she absolutely loves it! About 6 months into using it daily the stitching on the bag where the handle connects started to come undone, after contacting Flight Outfitters and explaining the issue they sent out a brand new replacement bag that same day, no questions asked. These are very stylish and well built bags, I’m very surprised we had that issue and definitely don’t expect it to happen again but even if it does, this company stands by their products and that says a lot! I would definitely recommend not only this bag but any product made by Flight Outfitters; I know we will be back in the near future because the fiancé now wants their Bush Pilot Folio bag!

High Quality, Tasteful, Larger Than ExpectedAppears to be a very good bag. I was skeptical about paying so much for a flight bag, but I wanted something of higher than average quality. The first time I handled it, it felt heavier than I expected. The material seems to be a nice thick canvas. The bag is considerably my larger than I was expecting; about the size of a gym duffel bag. I will update my review if I feel it necessary, but I am very pleased overall.

Better than I expected! This was exactly what I was looking for. Great quality and craftsmanship. The only reason I’m giving it a 4 star in durability is because (and this is just personal preference) the flap that is used to hold the two side straps together for hand carrying, I wish had buttons, rather than velcro. Still highly recommend for a long term use flight bag. Love it! (Also found a hidden surprise you can’t see in the pictures. – I’ll let you figure it out; but it has proven extremely convenient for me.)

Losing its shapeAs is typical of these types of carry bags, the bag is folded in half during the packaging process when manufactured so that it lays flat. This causes one side of the bag to collapse. When removing the bag from its wrapper, the bag retains this collapsed look on the folded side. I’ve seen this with leather bags purchased elsewhere years ago. Has any one else had this problem and is there a way to restore the integrity and strength to the folded side so that it does not collapse?

This was a gift for my sonMy son requested this as a Christmas gift. He seems to be very pleased with this bag, which he uses in his flight training. He lives in another state, so I am not able to get his detailed feedback. No complaints, here!

Awesome bag for flight schoolThis bag has been great. I bought it for flight school. Carries all my books, my head set, snacks and more. Could easily work as a gym or overnight bag as well. It’s almost a little too big for taking in the plane for short flights though. I would get a smaller bag as well in the future. Absolutely nothing wrong with the bag itself though.
